As a veteran of the United States military, you have distinguished yourself by honorably and selflessly serving your country. Regardless of what branch you served in or what job you had, you were willing to make sacrifices that most people will never know or understand.Your service has also placed you in a community and brotherhood of life-long friendships and bonds with other veterans that cannot be broken. At the Healing Road Foundation, we know where you’ve been, what you’ve been through and we are aware of your deepest needs. We are here to encourage you, lift you up and help you on your journey.

SURVIVORS

As a surviving spouse and child of a fallen veteran, you shoulder the burden of the ultimate sacrifice. While we haven’t had to walk in your shoes, we understand your circumstance and your struggles. We understand that you and your family are fragile, yet brave. We also understand that you may feel lost, yet you are strong. Our team is committed to serving you and your family. We will be your rock when you need it and the soft place to land when you fall. Our goal for you and your family is to maximize our brief time with you in a way that will honor you, encourage you and give you hope.

MILITARY KIDS

Being a military kid is probably one of the greatest things on the planet and yet the most misunderstood. You belong to an amazing community that recognizes and understands each other no matter what branch of service your parent was in or what country you grew up in. Even though you are a great mystery to most civilians, we want you to know that we are your biggest fans! The Healing Road Foundation was created for you. We understand that the things you’ve been through as a military child were not your choice and that we know exactly how you feel. There are so many things that you go through as a military child that other kids will never understand or experience, and that makes you amazing. Our events are designed with you as the kid in mind. We want you to have a great time and to get to know your parents better. We want you to feel free to express yourself and to help your parents understand you. In the end, we want to help you rebuild the relationship you had with your mom or dad.

EVENTS

These small, private events are pivotal in reconnecting the parent and child, and are offered at no cost to the family. Whether you are fly-fishing together for beautiful rainbow trout, hiking across a mountain ridge in pursuit of elk or simply gathered around a campfire on a cool evening, you will find it easy to give your child the undivided attention that they so desperately long for. This is also a place for you as a veteran or survivor to decompress and submerse yourself in the beauty of nature. God’s magnificent creation holds a healing power that is very unique and free from the stresses of everyday life. While it can take significant courage and effort, we sincerely hope that you will take that first step by reaching out to us and attending one of our events with your child.
